Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

This policy forms part of our Terms of Serviceand applies to everyone who uses Clariva. It exists so that one customer's conduct cannot put the service, or other customers, at risk.

You must not

  • Use Clariva for anything illegal, or to facilitate anything illegal.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to gain access to data, accounts or systems that are not yours.
  • Probe, scan or load-test the service without our written permission, or otherwise attempt to degrade it for others.
  • Attempt to circumvent permissions, tenant boundaries, rate limits or usage allowances.
  • Resell, sublicense or provide the service to a third party as your own, unless we have agreed that in writing.
  • Reverse engineer the service, or copy it to build a competing product.
  • Upload data you do not have the right to process, or use the service in a way that breaches your own obligations to your customers.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email through the service.

Sensitive data

Clariva is built for business-to-business distribution data. It is not designed or certified for protected health information, payment card numbers, government identity numbers, or the personal data of children. Do not enter that kind of data into free-text fields, notes or attachments.

If you accept payments through Clariva

Payments run through our payment processor, and their rules apply to you directly as well as through us. You must not:

  • Process payments for anything other than goods and services you actually supply.
  • Process a payment on a card you are not authorized to charge, or test cards against the service to see which ones work.
  • Use payments to move money for someone else, to convert or transmit funds, or to obtain cash.
  • Surcharge in a way that breaches card-network rules or the law of your customer’s state. Clariva enforces limits on this, but you set the rate and you are responsible for it.

You are the merchant of record for your own sales. You are responsible for what you sell, for fulfilling it, and for refunds and chargebacks on your own transactions.

The AI assistant

Do not use the assistant to generate unlawful content, to attempt to extract another organization's data, or as a substitute for professional advice. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong — check anything you are going to rely on.

Enforcement

Where we can, we will tell you about a problem and give you a chance to fix it. Where the conduct is causing active harm — to the service, to another customer, or to us — we may suspend access first and explain afterwards. Serious or repeated breaches can result in termination under the Terms of Service.
